Identity and artist persona

I wanted the font to be very simple and very minimalist as this reflects the style of my chosen genre. I took inspiration from other artists such as Lorde, The 1975 and Death cab for cutie. after looking at other examples and searching on websites such as "DaFont", a website of downloadable fonts, these were the examples I ended up with. I added the two slashes on either side of the name to give it some overall individuality, but no so much that it goes outside of the genre that I am trying to emulate.

The overall style I want my artist to have, even though she will not appear in the video, is a very retro, 80's vibe as that is the style that is begging to come back into fashion as well as vapour wave art and music an example of the music would be Home - resonance as it has the nostalgic feel of the past but in the present day.

Her Ideal outfit would be a turtle neck, wide legged pants, preferably in a velvet fabric, a black cap with bleach blond hair messily curled, a minimalist necklace, a pair of converse and a bomber jacket.

Her main interests would include, Tumblr so she could constantly stay up to date with the latest trends in fashion, music and art. Instagram, but she would very rarely, if not ever, post a photo of herself, it would purely be used to document the beauty in the world around her like a visual diary. She would not have facebook as she feels that scrolling through mindless garbage will not enhance her experience of life and finally she would have twitter, so she can stay connected with her fan base and post her late night thoughts for all to see.

Finally here we have some mock up album art that I created using a photo I took of a friend, I then used the app VSCO.cam to add the filter over it so that it became tones of blue and pink, I used this as I thought that it fitted into the style rather well, retro, 80's. I then used powerpoint to do everything else such as the font, the bevelling and the border in the first image. Out of the two I prefer the first one as it does not have the secondary filter over the top which was just a fade in the second so you could focus on the writing and it would be easier to see, but without it the image is a lot clearer and secondly with the white border allows us to see the text clearly and it also adds the minimalist feature I wanted.
