My audience
My audience for the indie pop / alternative genre is around my age which is about 15-19 years of age and young adults, this is due to the anti establishment vibes, explicit lyrics and content that conveys a message to the audience. The gender lines are very much balanced on both sides of the spectrum as in this day and time things such as gender roles don't play a big part in the meaning of music. The viewers no longer care about if the song is about sex, love etc, nowadays things are based around aesthetics and how things looks.

The teens that listen to this style of genre are from usually backgrounds where something bad or unsettling has happened as they feel like they can relate to the characters behind the camera or the dark lyrics Worthing the songs, they are not nessiceraly from a rough background but may have just had something happen throughout their childhood. They will emulate the artists looks and styles to try and fit in with the crowd as they feel they don't fit into the mainstream groups such as basic pop music. Pastels seem to be the trend at the moment.

Their lifestyles are not considered the best or the most healthy as most of the artist encourage thugs such as smoking weed and other consumption of drugs, due to this their audiences will basically do what they think is appropriate and as the artists do not listen to the advice of others neither will their fans. It's a type of worship, though the artists will insist that they are regular people the fans will worship the ground they walk on and agree with most things they say. This is seen very prominently through out this genre.
